So here we are past the middle of the year and with another week about to end. What's your mood and energy level like? It can be difficult to stay positive sometimes, especially when we begin looking back on the year and wondering if we really, really, did enough... and perhaps wondering what it's all adding up to? Are you really moving in the right direction?
Here's what I do when I find myself slipping into such thought because we subscribe to a rule at LHO: Success is the sum of small efforts repeated day in & day out. So there is no reason why you should be doubting yourself or your efforts. You're not going to do or attain all your success overnight. It's going to take time, sweat and more effort than you ever knew you had. However, we have our low points. That's what this blog post is for. Those low points.
First and foremost, I try to remind myself that life doesn't happen to me, it responds to me.
So with that said, I consciously address what I am putting out into the Universe and what I am expecting back from it?
You set the tone for your day, week, month you want to have. Not anyone else, unless you allow them. So what tone have you set even as we look to December?
Being cheerful daily is highly unrealistic, especially while adulting. However, you can be positive and hopeful most of the time. Is the glass half empty or half full? Sometimes what we need to control is simply our outlook and nothing more. That makes a great difference as you go through the day to day grind: Your chosen perspective matters AND is important. So decide it and then OWN that decision. Owning your decisions determines if these decisions will propel you career, goals, objectives. Do not underestimate the power of ownership.
Now, if you do find yourself in a mood or getting sucked into a funk, here are some other useful questions you can reflect on to help you clarify how you really feel and what you can do to feel better (because simply feeling down is NOT a solution to anything). You have to have a proactive attitude. A lot of times people ask us where the name of our business came from? Love's Hangover Creations was birthed by unplanned hours across our parents' house discussing and reflecting on the various men and boys who had happened in our lives romantically. While we discussed, we worked. We also listened to music, danced and occasionally had our mother walk in and ask us if we knew it was 4 in the morning? All of that frustration and desire for understanding turned into boxes and boxes and boxes of jewelry, then scarves, then bags and finally our parents had to ask, well what are you going to do with all of these products? We are natural businesswomen thanks to our mother. So we sought out to learn how small business was conducted in America and sought to sell them and here we are 8 years later. So remember: Feeling down is NOT a solution to anything. Feel your feelings but always ask, what's next? Feel free to jot your answers down and refer back to these questions anytime you feel that doubt/ frustration slipping in:

Feel free to jot your answers down and refer back to these questions anytime you feel that doubt/ frustration slipping in:

- How can I change my attitude now in order to accomplish my goals for the day/
week/ month? - How is my attitude hindering my progress?
- How is my attitude affecting me and everyone around me?
- Is there another way I can look at the situation I am in?
- What can I do now/ today (even if it's a small step) that can help create
the reality I want to live in?
moods and feelings matters too. So choose. Choose an outlook/ attitude that
helps you achieve more and be more and harness more from those around you.
Remember life is not happening to you.
It's responding to you.
Have a powerful rest of the week
